Berlin, Germany โ€” July 7, 2026

The first in-person Hiero Community Day 2026 officially launched in Berlin, bringing together maintainers, contributors, and open-source community members for a full day of insights into the current topics of conversation in the community, technical updates, and a fun evening of community connection.

The Hiero community came together at TreeHouse Berlin for a day that delivered engaging presentations including Agentic AI, Hiero SDK updates, Proof of Personhood, Core Component updates as well as discussions about the importance of having a thriving community helping us shape the path to success among other technical discussions.

This event included members from Hashgraph, OpenElements, BlockyDevs, Linux Foundation Decentralized Trust, DSR and independent community members excited to meet with the talented people that have contributed to the growth and expansion of Hiero since it first came to be in September 2024.

A Day of Learning in Berlin

The day started with a warm welcome from Hendrik Ebbers (Hiero Director of Open-source) who helped organize this event.

After a short introduction to the agenda, the conversation started by Sophie Bulloch (Hiero Python SDK Maintainer) on Why Community Matters and our Hiero community latest analytics which reflect a promising future for the project's health so far in the first half of the year.

Hendrik Ebbers (Hiero Director of OpenSource) and Jessica Gonzalez (LF Decentralized Trust) presented the Hiero Keynote which included a conversation about what defines a blockchain and how Hiero is defined in a nutshell. Following that, the group reviewed a report on the current status of Hiero and what the plans are for the near future using several scenarios as examples including an introduction to CLPR which is a new bridgeless Cross-Ledger Protocol developed by Hashgraph.

Piotr ลšwierzy (BlockyDevs) gave a presentation on Agentic Commerce and how the Hiero project can benefit by leveraging successfully the tools that we have available.

Rob Walworth (Hiero SDK Maintainer) presented a review on the current state of the Hiero SDKs and the future that is being designed to continue their development.

Jessica Gonzalez and Alexander Shenshin (DSR) led a discussion on Proof of Personhood and how the Hiero Heka project is working to develop a solution to digital identity in this era where AI is becoming fast and more convincing at faking contributions that can have a negative impact in open-source projects.

Noah Tayebwa (Open Elements) offered an update on Solo and Solo Action which are core components of the Hiero project.

The event's sessions came to a conclusion with the weekly Technical Steering Commitee meeting happening live for the very first time! Remote participants of the meeting were delighted to see several members of the community together in one place to attend this call and make a more dynamic interaction possible.

Building Momentum For What Comes Next

July 2026 marks a very important milestone for the Hiero community: Coming together as a community once more for a day of celebrating the project achievements and mutually encourage each other to amplify the participation and reach across the open-source community.

We believe in the power of collaboration. Hiero has reached its current level of maturity thanks to the dedication and ongoing work of its maintainers, contributors, adopters, developers, and users. Their continued support makes it possible for us to proudly showcase this progress, share it with new audiences, and welcome more people into the community to help shape the future of Hiero.
